I enjoy living in the country, it is so quiet most nights, but there are night that the silence is broken by coyotes. As my wife and I were just about go to bed last night a coyote started to move through my vineyard. It was making yips followed by a howl. It was moving along the dichline to the north, I assume it was trying to find a rabbit, vole or possibly another coyote, then all of a sudden you could hear his pichch change it started moving quickly southeast through the vineyard, as if it was chasing or moving after something. Just as suddenly as I heard the coyote it was gone and the silence returned. I might set up a call and a coyote blind this weekend and see if the coyote returns.

California Delta 2/23/2014
I was at home with the family, I did have time to made a quick pass through my vineyard looking for jackrabbits only saw one but it did not present a safe shot. But my brother and mom went out to the delta. So here is the the report given to me, they fished main channel early and was able to get a few on spinner baits. As the fog lifted they moved to disappointment slough (water was gin clear) and started throwing drop shot with zoom finesse worm in pumpkin with red flake. The two big fish were 4.5 and 3.8, they boated 14 fish.

Not only was today my grandmothers 92nd birthday, on the other hand it was also a day on the water with my brother. We fished the California Delta, we launched out of B&W marina and fished all day in franks track we had no luck with rattle traps, spinnerbaits, flipping or punching. About 8:30am I switched over to a drop shot on a spinning rod. First cast resulted in a dink but first fish was a good sign. My brother quickly switch to wacky rig in the same color, and in three shacks he landed his first fish too. It was a keeper but no size. My next casts resulted in a bite, however unable to hook up, this was going to be the case for most of the day. The fish we hitting the worm hard. Yet even if we gave line and waited for the bass to swim off with the bait it did not always end up with a fish on. We both had a two dozen of these types of bites all day long. My brother and I were able to land 6 fish a pice best fish went two pounds. I used the same worm all day.
