Coyote Howls

I enjoy living in the country, it is so quiet most nights, but there are night that the silence is broken by coyotes.  As my wife and I were just about go to bed last night a coyote started to move through my vineyard. It was making yips followed by a howl. It was moving along the dichline to the north, I assume it was trying to find a rabbit, vole or possibly another coyote, then all of a sudden you could hear his pichch change it started moving quickly southeast through the vineyard, as if it was chasing or moving after something. Just as suddenly as I heard the coyote it was gone and the silence returned. I might set up a call and a coyote blind this weekend and see if the coyote returns.
